Qualifications

  • 8-10 years’ experience in an Automotive Maintenance Environment.
  • Experience in a supervisory position is advantageous.

  • Liaise with suppliers for planned projects and maintenance.

Job description

Overview

Our client in the Automotive Industry is seeking a Maintenance Lead to join their team. The successful incumbent will be responsible to directly oversee the shift leaders, store staff, clerks, and the tooling department.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Grade 12/Matric
  2. N5/ Engineering Diploma or Equivalent (Engineering Degree an added advantage.)
  3. 8-10 years’ experience in Automotive Maintenance Environment
  4. Experienced in Maintenance/ Engineering Practices
  5. Experience in a supervisory position will be an added advantage

Job Responsibilities

  1. Directly oversee the shift leaders, Store staff and clerks, Tooling.
  2. Oversee Equipment, tooling and Utilities.
  3. Compile weekly reports - Top Downtime and corrective actions, KPI's - PM Adherence etc.
  4. Attend daily OPS meetings to provide feedback on equipment status and actions.
  5. Attend daily Scrap/Quality meetings and set actions to minimize.
  6. Liaise with Planning to incorporate the preventative maintenance plan within the production plan.
  7. Compile the monthly departmental KPI's report with ICA / PCA Actions.
  8. Liaise with suppliers and contractors for the execution of planned projects and/or maintenance and repairs.
  9. Obtain quotes based on SOW's and raise POR's within One BPM.
  10. Track expenses and budgets to stay within the monthly budget.
  11. Recruit (Interviews) and train new members in terms of company procedures.
  12. Manage budget for spares and consumables
  13. Champion CI activities - Energy savings, Kaizen's.
  14. Stand in and 2IC to the Technical Manager.
