Job summary

A leading company in facility maintenance is seeking an experienced maintenance technician in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for plumbing repairs, general maintenance tasks, and emergency calls. Candidates must possess a Matric Certificate, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and solid plumbing skills. You will also need a valid driver's license and must be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with plumbing is essential.
• Valid driver's license and SA ID or Work Permit required.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work activities can vary depending on the project, but typical duties include:

• Repair plumbing (non-negotiable)
• Perform basic tasks including painting and filling crevices, cleaning facilities, and managing maintenance repairs
• Furniture building and carpentry
• Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults in Electrical and Mechanical systems
• Installations, plant, and equipment
• Be available and/or schedule to work on emergency calls
• Perform general repairs and services across all maintenance disciplines

Electrical and Safety Systems

• Undertake repairs to building furniture including doors, windows, cupboards, shelving, and building fabric
• Perform minor adjustments on room furniture, fixtures, and other items as required

Requirements

• Matric Certificate or equivalent (non-negotiable)
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Solid experience with plumbing
• Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills
