Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company in Gauteng is seeking a Trade Tested Maintenance Fitter & Turner. The role involves maintaining high-speed FMCG production lines, performing mechanical repairs, and mentoring apprentices. Successful candidates will have at least 5 years of experience and strong skills in fault-finding and hydraulics. Competitive salary package between R 360 000 - R 420 000 annually offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years fitting experience in an FMCG or food manufacturing plant.
• Skilled in mechanical fault-finding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and high-speed machinery.
• Confident using drawings and machining techniques.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance
• Machine refurbishments and fault-finding across fast-moving packaging lines
• Mechanical repairs
• Pipe fitting
• Machining and welding
• Work with hydraulic, pneumatic and OEM systems
• Maintain high standards of safety and compliance
• Support installations
• Mentor apprentices on proper machine care and operation

Job experience and Skills Required

• N3 Mechanical Engineering Trade Tested Fitter / Fitter & Turner
• Minimum 5 years fitting experience in an FMCG or food manufacturing plant
• Skilled in mechanical fault-finding, hydraulics, pneumatics and high-speed machinery
• Confident using drawings, precision tools and machining techniques
• Computer literate (MS Office) with exposure to maintenance / inventory systems
