Maintenance Electrician

Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Our client based in Pietermaritzburg is seeking an organized and skilled Maintenance Electrician. The ideal candidate should have exceptional experience in electrical installations (LV & MV), equipment repair and maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum of Grade 12 or a Technical N2/N3 qualification
• Qualified Electrical Artisan (Wireman Licence - advantageous)
• At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in a production/manufacturing environment
• Experience with panel wiring, AC drive programming, and fault finding
• Experience with CNC machine tools, induction furnaces, and MV switching procedures is advantageous
• Ability to work under pressure, manage time efficiently, and be proactive in daily tasks

Responsibilities:

• Maintain current LV and MV electrical installations and equipment
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on casting machines, furnaces, CNC machine tools, and other factory equipment
• Installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant
• Maintain machine data and time sheets on data management systems
• Adhere to safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards in the work area
• Report accidents/incidents promptly as per procedures
• Liaise with all stakeholders professionally and maintain strong business relationships
