Purpose of the Job :
To safely carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on underground electrical equipment in accordance with documented work orders.
Job Responsibilities :
SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
- Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox).
- Adhere to legislated safety, health, and environmental standards in every task performed.
- Isolate and lockout equipment with relevant documentation.
- Assess and respond to risks in working areas.
CUSTOMERS
- Never hand over equipment that is inappropriately maintained.
- Never perform a job without receiving authorization via a work order notification.
- Ensure customer satisfaction.
BUSINESS PROCESSES
- Perform tasks as outlined in the Work Order and detailed Task List.
- Capture job history and complete notifications to standard.
- Confirm Work Order details, including time, accurately.
- Provide feedback to Maintenance Supervisor on discrepancies between instructions and job requirements.
- Report any unavailable spares, equipment, or factors affecting the job to the Supervisor.
- Create notifications from inspections and related activities.
- Conduct faultfinding on equipment and machinery, including live testing based on electrical voltage certification.
- Perform faultfinding on defective equipment as needed.
- Maintain adherence to health, safety, environment, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Apply fault-finding techniques, conduct root cause analysis, and perform regular inspections.
- Maintain and repair electrical parts, components, and equipment.
- Comply with MHSA, Mine standards, and procedures.
- Ensure installations meet statutory regulations and safety standards, conforming to maintenance systems.
- Be aware of relevant COP content.
- Complete breakdown work orders, create notifications, provide feedback, and generate orders in SAP.
- Follow lock-out procedures.
UNPLANNED INTERVENTIONS :
- Follow lock-out procedures and risk requirements before starting work.
- Attend to breakdowns safely and promptly.
- Record data related to stoppages for root cause analysis.
- Assist with electrical lockouts for non-electrical disciplines.
PLANNED INTERVENTIONS :
- Perform isolation and issue lockout documents.
- Record all data related to stoppages on work orders.
- Handover equipment back to production and report to the control room.
ROTABLES MANAGEMENT :
- Change out items as necessary.
- Transport damaged rotables to the lay-down area.
SHAREHOLDER VALUE
- Focus on cost reduction and continuous improvement.
General
- Communicate improvement suggestions regarding breakdown handling to Maintenance Supervisor.
