Machine Sales Representatives
East London
Job Purpose :
To drive revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities in the earthmoving equipment sector, while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers. The role involves delivering exceptional customer service, providing expert guidance on equipment selection, and managing the complete sales process—from prospecting and proposals to closing deals and post-sale support—in alignment with the company’s sales policies and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities :
- Meet or exceed sales targets.
- Communicate with and provide service to all walk-in and call-in customers.
- Actively solicit new equipment customers.
- Use all reasonable methods of prospecting for new customers daily, primarily via sales calls to individuals and businesses within the assigned area.
- Develop and make presentations of the products.
- Assist clients in equipment selection based on application.
- Develop sales proposals based on requirements and discuss with clients.
- Follow up with and provide ongoing service to existing customers.
- Active follow-up of OTPs.
- Write sales orders and process paperwork in accordance with the company’s policies.
- Deliver new equipment, explain warranty and service policies.
- Attend sales and training meetings.
- Prepare and submit sales call reports, prospect lists, and lost sales reports.
- Generate and qualify leads.
- Conduct continuous market and competition research.
- Monitor trends and developments in the earthmoving equipment industry within the territory.
- Continually study equipment specifications to improve product knowledge.
- Work harmoniously with all departments.
Experience And Qualifications :
- Matric
- Formal Marketing Qualification (an advantage)
- Excellent work ethics and communication skills coupled with a strong customer focus
- Proficiency in English language and communication
- Previous selling experience in earthmoving equipment (Heavy-duty Earthmoving Machinery and material handling equipment) preferred
Skills & Competencies :

- Ability to understand and communicate basic financing with customers
- Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, etc.)
