Job summary

Greys Recruitment is seeking a Machine Operator / Wrapper in South Africa to operate production machinery and perform wrapping/packaging duties as needed. The role requires Grade 12 and at least 2 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in food/FMCG.

You must be able to stand long hours, work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required. Responsibilities include setting up and monitoring equipment, adjusting settings for efficiency, and ensuring product quality before packaging.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• At least 2 years' experience operating production/manufacturing machinery.
• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is advantageous.
• Experience with wrapping/packaging products.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery.
• Perform machine start-up and shut-down procedures.
• Adjust machine settings to ensure optimal production.
• Identify and report machine faults or production issues.
• Conduct basic preventative maintenance and routine equipment checks.
• Ensure production targets are met.
• Wrap and package finished products according to company standards.
• Inspect products for quality before packaging.
• Label and prepare products for dispatch.
• Maintain cleanliness of packaging stations.
• Ensure correct product quantities and packaging specifications.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.
• Comply with company health and safety regulations.
