Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As Machine Learning Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role.

You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Agent frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph/CrewAI/AutoGen).
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with OpenAI or Anthropic APIs including function calling and tool use.
• Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours in design and development processes.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS.
• Handle MCP server integrations as part of the AI stack.

What You Bring
