Job Description

At Engineering & Property Services (E&PS), we manage all J&J buildings worldwide, providing comprehensive services from Real Estate, Engineering & Strategic Project Delivery to Facilities Management. We influence the entire J&J Enterprise by creating innovative workplaces that foster collaboration and growth, and delivering flexible site solutions to best serve our customers and patients.

J&J MedTech is recruiting a Supervisor Facilities Engineering, reporting to the Manager Facilities Management Services EMEA, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee Facilities & Engineering teams to support organizational objectives in partnership with key stakeholders.
  2. Manage daily operations related to design, delivery, and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure.
  3. Supervise team members, contractors, and partners, conducting effective performance management.
  4. Manage strategic partnerships and contracts, including KPI reviews and financial oversight.
  5. Coordinate with local business leads and the Engineering and Property services organization for planning and alignment.
  6. Lead project management, maintenance, and improvements for capital investments, leveraging data to enhance reliability and safety.
  7. Coordinate processes for Facilities Engineering to ensure consistent work delivery.
  8. Maintain workflow and productivity, resolving operational issues promptly.
  9. Manage operational aspects of the team, ensuring goal achievement within standards.
  10. Collaborate with Quality and EHS departments to meet safety and compliance standards.
  11. Work with other functions within Engineering and Property services to meet strategic goals.
  12. Apply Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives daily.

Education & Experience

Education: Technical or Project Management background; Secondary Technical/Project Management School or Lyceum; Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.

Certifications: Lean, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Minimum 5 years of facilities management experience or equivalent.
  • Experience in developing and leading facilities projects.
  • Knowledge of site services, technical and personnel-related.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and project ownership.
  • Ability to work strategically and tactically.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multinational team.
  • Adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Compliance with GMR and 'competent person' definitions.
