Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment seeks an experienced Operations Manager for a luxury lodge in Kenya. You will oversee housekeeping, maintenance, safari shop, and guest services, leading multiple teams to deliver world‑class guest experiences in a remote live‑in setting.

You will mentor staff, manage budgets and report on performance while ensuring cost control and service excellence in a high‑end safari operation.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as Operations Manager or senior hospitality leader in luxury lodges or safari camps.
• Proven ability to lead multiple departments and manage budgets and performance reports.
• Excellent guest relations, communication and organisational skills.
• Comfortable working in a remote, live-in lodge environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Housekeeping, Maintenance, Safari Shop, Night Porters and Massage teams.
• Lead, mentor and develop departmental teams through coaching and performance management.
• Serve as liaison between department heads and Lodge Manager for smooth operations.
• Deliver exceptional guest engagement by hosting meals, handling requests and resolving issues.
• Conduct operational inspections to maintain high standards of presentation and service.
• Attend Heads of Department meetings and drive continuous improvement from guest feedback.
• Prepare operational reports and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate staff training and leadership development within the team.
• Provide relief support for Food & Beverage operations as needed.
