Context & Environment
To ensure plant optimization and efficient production by developing credible, workable plans to meet agreed service levels.
Proactively identify, correct, and modify plans according to changing circumstances such as priorities, market demand, raw material availability, blending constraints, and resource and manpower availability.
- Develop detailed schedules of production orders considering plant requirements such as capacities (e.g., batch sizes, resource capacities).
- Coordinate and agree on production schedules with relevant stakeholders (e.g., production team, inbound material planner, quality team, dispatch team) via draft plans.
- Participate in daily production planning meetings to review performance and record issues impacting budgeted production targets.
- Ensure accurate reflection of information in the system, maintaining relevant data in production orders accessible to stakeholders.
- Provide capacity information to operations control to assist with budget planning through capacity reports.
- Maintain scheduled dates in production orders to understand their impact on production schedule adherence (PSA).
- Monitor and review adherence to standards in production routings and update relevant MRP master data as needed.
- Participate in management issues related to process owners, including SAP updates and related projects within the PP module.
- Coordinate and manage third-party fillers (subcontractors).
- Monitor and update KPIs (e.g., in-transit, open purchase orders, interface results) and oversee monthly and yearly stock reconciliations for the lubricants manufacturing plant and subcontractors.
Activities
Production Planning
- Ensure efficient and continuous operation of blending and filling processes by planning and scheduling production orders to optimize resource use (space, materials, machinery, labor).
- Analyze and report on planning activities against targets and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare purchase orders for subcontractors, expedite operations, and adjust schedules for unforeseen conditions.
- Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data, performing calculations to ensure marketing forecasts are achievable with current resources.
Working Capital Management
- Conduct monthly stock counts and reconciliations following company rules.
- Manage raw, packaging, and finished product stocks, ensuring compliance with business rules.
- Reduce working capital by optimizing the MRP tool without compromising customer service.
HSEQ
- Manage and minimize HSE risks within the area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Promote a safe working environment and contribute to HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies.
- Identify and enforce HSE competency requirements within the area.
Governance
- Ensure effective risk management and internal controls, including asset management.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide relief in areas such as planning management, dispatch, and assistant planning roles.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to improve cross-functional integration across departments involved in MM and PP business streams.
- Operate effectively in an environment with minimal forecasting and seasonal variations.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in production planning, stock management, production management, or equivalent (minimum +3 years).
- Postgraduate qualification in business or SAP PP certification is advantageous.
- 3-5 years experience in a petroleum or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP manufacturing systems (MPS/MRP/BOMs/routing).
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 standards.
