Position Overview

We are looking for our next Logistics Planner to join our East London facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate EDI accuracy from the customer.
  • Track customer variation on orders that could be transmitted to our supplier base.
  • To place weekly raw material orders on suppliers.
  • Expedite orders using the standard transport mode.
  • Ensure to monitor supplier on-time delivery. Ensure that all imports requirements are met (FCL/ LCL requirements – TO’s, forecasts, etc) and that parts are shipped according to the required in plant due dates. Review and action delivery discrepancies.
  • Populate and analyze material shortage reports.
  • Escalate material or supply problems.
  • Manage Excess & Obsolescence management; Engineering Change management of your designated parts / suppliers.
  • Work with the team on Continuous Improvement Programs.
  • Flag the cycle counting of parts at risk that are needing review.
  • Goods-in-transit, backlog, supplier, stock holding and engineering change management.

Educational Requirements

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification is advantageous.

Minimum Requirements

  • Material planning experience using a recognized ERP system, preference will be given to an individual with SAP knowledge
  • Material planning for complex supply chains for Europe, Asia and America
  • Experience in a planning up to 150 part numbers and/or 10 different suppliers
  • Minimum 3 years material planning experience within a manufacturing industry, automotive experience advantageous

Related Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, advanced level advantageous. A working knowledge of SAP or a similar system would be advantageous. Supply chain understanding and management.

  • The ideal candidate would display a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to work independently in an ever changing and pressurized environment. Highly effective problem solving and communication skills
