The purpose of this position is to oversee multiple operational sites across Mpumalanga, including Secunda, Isibonelo, Burgersfort, and Winterveld.

Requirements
  • Contribute to the organizational strategy by understanding key strategic drivers and providing input annually.
  • Develop the departmental strategy aligned with the business strategy, present, and secure approval annually.
  • Create the departmental operations plan, including projects and KPIs, and submit for approval annually and as needed.
  • Report on performance by tracking against targets, identifying issues, and submitting quarterly reports.
  • Manage operational performance by monitoring, identifying anomalies, and implementing corrective actions monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with local and corporate requirements, promote ethical behavior, and address non-compliance promptly.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of departmental processes, monitor compliance, and improve efficiencies.
  • Develop and submit departmental policies and procedures based on best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement the logistics strategy effectively, optimize stock placement, and control costs to meet performance targets.
  • Track departmental expenditure, review costs, and take corrective actions as needed monthly.
  • Develop and oversee the departmental risk management framework, review strategies, and drive improvements quarterly.
  • Manage SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) by ensuring comprehensive training and addressing gaps or non-compliance.
  • Monitor and enforce HR policies, ensuring compliance and addressing issues promptly.
  • Qualifications include Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent, a Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management, and 8-10 years of experience in operational logistics/supply chain in a mining environment.
