Overview

Logistics/Supply Chain, Warehouse & Freight

Purpose of this role

Overseeing the movement of goods, equipment and materials across land, sea, and air. The role is 90% logistics and 10% procurement with a strong focus on freight forwarding, compliance and operational visibility across Africa.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, international business, or related field.
  • Master’s degree will be an advantage.
Experience
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in international logistics and supply chain management, with significant exposure to African markets.
  • Experience and knowledge of freight forwarding Incoterms, customs procedures, and logistics contracts.
  • Experience in implementing logistics management systems and ensuring visibility across multiple units and countries.
  • Understanding land freight across African corridors, as well as air and sea freight coordination.
  • Exceptional organizational, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in challenging circumstances.
Responsibilities
  • Managing international logistics across road, maritime and airfreight.
  • Building strong partnerships with freight forwarders, airlines and transport providers.
  • Ensuring compliance with customs, Incoterms, trade and legal requirements.
  • Overseeing shipments from booking to final delivery.
  • Implementing systems for real-time tracking and standardised workflows.
  • Aligning inventory stock records across warehouses and business units.
  • Mitigating risks linked to customs, security and infrastructure challenges.
  • Monitoring KPIs, reporting to senior management and driving cost efficiency.
