Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Manager to oversee warehouse and distribution operations for our chilled, frozen, and ambient products at the Econofoods Distribution Centre in Port Elizabeth. The role involves ensuring smooth goods flow, process optimization, team management, and maintaining product integrity. The ideal candidate has a track record in lean logistics, inventory control, and customer service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop regional logistics strategies aligned with overall business goals, based on the central strategy.
  • Warehouse Management: Oversee daily warehouse operations, implement inventory best practices, and minimize losses.
  • Distribution: Coordinate transportation, optimize routes, manage fleet, and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Quality & Safety: Enforce quality control, food safety, and create a safe work environment.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations and industry standards, monitor compliance across departments.
  • Cost Management: Identify efficiencies, manage budgets, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop the logistics team, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration & Change Management: Work effectively with partners and implement changes swiftly in a fast-paced environment.
