Job description

BRIEF ROLE DESCRIPTION: The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Client's Contract Logistics operations.

This includes managing and ordering inventory, forecasting, coordinating the movement of goods from the Client to the Region, monitoring overall stock accuracy and Vehicle stock accuracy, handling shipping and receiving, overseeing monthly and quarterly audits, fulfilling weekly and monthly reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with all relevant processes, governance, regulations, standards, and risk mitigation.

The Logistics Manager will work closely with internal regional teams and other departments, such as Operations County Leads, Materials Management, and Procurement, to optimize processes and improve efficiency.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs):
  1. Develop and implement logistics strategies to support company goals and objectives.
  2. Manage and optimize transportation and distribution network timelines.
  3. Manage, monitor, and track shipments and orders to ensure timely delivery.
  4. Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels in line with warehouse operations.
  5. Manage and maintain accurate Field Technician Vehicle inventory levels.
  6. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  7. Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  8. Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve customer satisfaction.
Profile:
  • Education: National Diploma / Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certification in supply chain management or logistics.
  • Experience: 5+ years in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with strong knowledge of supply chain processes, proficiency with logistics software, and experience in the Telecommunications Industry.
  • Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Technical / Core Training: Practical knowledge of Supply Chain, basic Technical Telecommunications knowledge.
  • IT Skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Outlook (intermediate), SAP, Inventory Management.
  • Licenses: Valid SA Drivers' License.
  • Statutory Requirements: OHS Act, ISO Quality Management & Risk Management Systems.
