Duties & Responsibilities
Include but not limited to :
- Strategically planning and managing logistics, including managing offsite warehouse stock outside South African borders, transportation, and customer services.
- Directing, optimizing, and coordinating full order cycles.
- Coordinating imports and exports.
- Planning quantities and dispatches to meet client deadlines.
- Following detailed SOPs for shipping of products.
- Stock management reporting.
- Processing and submitting export documentation.
- Tracking trucks and transport documentation.
- Attending to and resolving documentation-related queries.
- Gathering and capturing export-related data on the internal software system.
- Meeting strict and changing deadlines.
- Handling all administrative tasks within the scope of the export logistics function within the company.
- Coordinating with transporters and warehouses.
- Resolving problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
- Supervising the work of logistics administrators.
- Observing, receiving, and obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Tracking trucks and transport documentation.
- Strategically planning and managing logistics, warehouses, transportation, and customer services.
- Keeping track of quantity, stock levels, delivery times, and efficiency.
- Resolving any problems or complaints arising.
- Meeting accuracy and timeliness targets.
- Complying with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
Skills and requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, hands-on, and able to use initiative.
- Strong forward planning skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially advanced MS Excel skills including spreadsheets.
- Ability to work with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet constantly changing deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to ask questions rather than make assumptions.
- Team player.
- Degree preferable but not essential.
- Extensive experience in Road Freight, particularly within Africa, with a commercial background.
