Fruitways is an agri-business that specialises in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.
LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

We take pride in our efficient logistics operations and our ability to adapt to the dynamic demands of the market.

We are seeking an independent, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Logistics Coordinator. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Reporting to the Logistics Manager you will work at the Marketing Office in Somerset West as part of the Logistics Team.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all logistical processes from point of loading through to final shipping destination.
  • Book and timely place supply chain services, based on best option in the market, correct protocols and client requirements.
  • Maintain and distribute updated transport and shipping information for all stakeholders
  • Ensure that dispatches are confirmed promptly and accurately to enable further processing and completion of export and local documentation
  • Monitor vessel & container movements, provide reports to relevant stakeholders and find solutions to deviations.
  • Coordinate information flows with external service providers including cold stores and off-site storage solutions.
  • Collect and supply accurate information for in-house export clearance.
  • Report logistics related claims to logistics manager and assist in consolidation and quantifying claim values

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification or diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain with 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet set deadlines while maintaining attention to detail throughout.
  • Ability to take initiative and operate independently
  • Effective team player
  • Capable of adapting comfortably to a rapidly changing work environment
  • Comfortable working in an open-plan office
  • Computer literacy and professional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
  • Knowledge of QX or another fruit operational system
  • Additional industry experience in the export of perishable goods will be advantageous (DALRRD applications, Q67’s / Titan etc)
