Job description

About CubeSpace

CubeSpace designs and industrialises world-class attitude-control systems for small satellites. Our mission success depends on getting the right parts to the right place at the right time—flawlessly. As we scale local production and expand globally, we need a meticulous Logistics Coordinator to keep our supply chain running like clockwork.

Role Purpose

You will be the operational link between Supply Chain, Production, Stores, and our network of manufacturers, suppliers, freight agents, and clients. From negotiating freight rates to kitting parts for a build, you will own end-to-end logistics execution, ensuring every shipment is correct, compliant, cost-effective, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and track shipments:

• Liaise daily with manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, and clients to schedule collections, book carriers, and monitor delivery milestones.

• Prepare export/import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, export-control licences, certificates of conformance).

- Order packaging and dispatch:

• Pick, pack, label, and secure loads for domestic and international shipment, ensuring packing integrity and ESD protection.

• Arrange courier collections and ensure tracking numbers and proof of delivery are captured in the ERP.

- Cost and contract management:

• Review freight, insurance, and handling costs; negotiate rates and service-level agreements; recommend more economical routings where viable.

- Inventory and stores support:

• Assist Raw Material Stores with kitting, cycle counts, bin accuracy, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and root-cause analysis of stock variances.

• Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels and flag shortages to Production Planners.

- ERP and record accuracy:

• Update purchase orders, shipment status, costing, and serial-number traceability in the ERP and digital filing system.

• Generate weekly logistics KPIs (on‑time‑in‑full, cost per kg, transit time, claims).

- Compliance and continuous improvement:

• Ensure adherence to all applicable customs, export-control, dangerous-goods, health-and-safety, and environmental regulations.

• Champion process improvements (5S, Lean, digitisation) to boost efficiency and reduce errors.

Qualifications and Experience

- National diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.

- 2–4 years of hands-on logistics or shipping coordination in a manufacturing or high‑tech environment.

- Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, MS Dynamics, or similar).

- Solid understanding of Incoterms, freight forwarding, and customs brokerage.

- Advantageous: DG/IATA certification, export-control knowledge (ITAR/EU dual-use), experience supporting aerospace or electronics production.

Skills and Competencies

- Strong negotiation and vendor‑management skills.

- Meticulous attention to detail—errors in packing or paperwork keep you up at night.

- Clear, confident communication (verbal and written) with internal teams and external partners.

- Data‑driven mindset: comfortable analysing freight data, spotting trends, and recommending savings.

- Ability to juggle multiple priorities calmly in a fast‑moving production setting.

Personal Attributes

- Ownership mentality: you see problems, not borders, and follow through to resolution.

- Continuous improver: you constantly question “is there a better, leaner way?”

- Collaborative: you build positive relationships across Production, Engineering, and Finance.

- Resilient: you keep momentum even when suppliers, flights, or customs let you down.

What We Offer

- Be part of a South African tech success story with a global footprint.

- Work alongside smart, mission‑driven people who value excellence and innovation.

- Competitive salary, daily lunch and a great performance incentive structure.

- Professional development budget and exposure to international logistics challenges.

- A culture that celebrates curiosity, continuous learning, and having fun while doing great work.
