Job Purpose

The Logistics Clerk is responsible for efficiently staging orders received from warehouse and production in an effective manner and to ensure that orders are stacked and packed neatly in the DC area. They also assist where needed by loading vehicles and containers. General housekeeping on the DC areas daily.

Responsibilities

Clerk Logistics Service

  • Assist with loading delivery vehicles and containers when required.
  • Assist in picking orders for third party logistics where and when needed.
  • Ensure that stock quantity and accuracy at 100% all times by means of checks and follow up.
  • Follow up continuously during the day on DC orders not staged from warehouse and production to ensure the performance stay within SLA.
  • Where needed to load and move orders from warehouse to ensure DC orders are staged on time.
  • On occasion additional hours may be required for stock checks as per arrangement with the supervisor.
  • Ensure that the DC area by the conveyor belt is clear and orders are packed away by end of each day.
  • Assist when needed in any other area in the DC / Dispatch when required.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Report any issues or problems on any orders immediately and ensure that the issues are resolved assisted by the supervisor.
  • Damages must be contained and minimized as far as possible by means of correct stacking and storing procedures.
  • Ensure that the correct order and correct quantity staged as per the packing instruction.
  • Collection orders must be handed over to the client in an efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • When required to assist with collection orders from warehouse when the client is waiting to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Matric
  • 2 years’ clerical/dispatch experience preferred at a similar level
