Key Responsibilities

Utilize advanced route optimization software and logistics planning tools to maximize delivery efficiency and minimize transit times and fuel costs. Analyze delivery performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with dispatchers and drivers to manage daily operations, address unforeseen issues, and ensure timely deliveries. Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure efficient loading and dispatch of goods. Monitor driver performance and adherence to schedules, providing feedback and support. Maintain comprehensive records of routes, delivery times, and operational costs. Stay updated on local traffic patterns, road conditions, and regulatory changes affecting transportation. Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery status and address any logistical concerns.

Requirements

Proven experience in logistics, transportation management, or route planning, with a strong understanding of supply chain operations. Proficiency in using route optimization software (e.g., RouteXL, ORTEC, Maxoptra) and other logistics management systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data. Strong understanding of geographical areas around George, Western Cape and effective route planning strategies. Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience with fleet management principles is a plus.
