Job description

Position: Logistics and Inventory Manager

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Logistics and Inventory Manager to oversee our supply chain, inventory management, and import/export operations. This role is vital to ensure the efficient handling of our products and supplies, which is critical for achieving our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Logistics Management:
  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse operations, transportation, and customer services.
  • Direct, optimize, and coordinate the full order cycle.
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
  • Monitor quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency.
  • Organize warehouse spaces and catalog goods.
  • Address and resolve any arising issues or complaints.
  • Achieve cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
2. Inventory Management:
  • Develop and optimize inventory control procedures.
  • Inspect levels of business supplies to identify shortages.
  • Ensure adequate product stock for all distribution channels and direct customer demand.
  • Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory.
  • Utilize software to monitor demand and document inventory characteristics.
  • Place orders to replenish stock, avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus.
  • Analyze data to anticipate future needs.
  • Evaluate suppliers to secure cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.
  • Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to meet business goals.
  • Report to upper management on stock levels and issues.
3. Inventory Cost Accounting:
  • Handle product costing, standard cost updates, cost variance analysis, and preparation of cost reports.
  • Manage inventory reporting and reconciliations.
  • Perform month-end closing activities and ensure timely and accurate financial accounting related to revenue and costing.
4. Import/Export Management:
  • Ensure shipments comply with import and export regulations.
  • Manage insurance, tariffs, and quotas.
  • Categorize shipments according to tariff coding systems and liaise with customs agents.
  • Negotiate to reduce taxes and duties.
  • Track shipment locations and utilize the most economical methods for shipping.
  • Oversee warehousing, transportation, and distribution of goods.
  • Ensure accurate insurance coverage for shipments.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Logistics Manager.
  • Successful record in distribution and logistics management.
  • Demonstrable leadership and staff management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
  • BS in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain.

Inventory Manager:

  • Proven experience in inventory management or a similar position.
  • Excellent data analysis and forecasting skills.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., ERP).
  • Ability to accurately track inventory and generate reports.
  • Strong analytical mind with solid math skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration, Logistics, or a relevant field; CPIM certification is a plus.

Inventory Cost Accountant:

  • Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Experience in handling full spectrum accounting functions, including Cost Accounting, Forecasting, and Reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., Palladium, Pastel Evolution).
  • Strong team player with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or five years of relevant experience.
  • Computer and management skills.
  • Proficiency in other languages is desirable.
  • Certified professional is preferred.
