Locum General Practitioner Doctor Cape Town

Our client, a Specialist Nephrologist based in Cape Town, is seeking the services of an experienced General Practitioner to locum for 2 weeks from 07 July until 22 July 2025.

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

• Conduct ward rounds in the dialysis units
• Be available to take telephonic queries
• Monitor the patients and check for any unstable patients
• Refer patients to specialists or for admissions
• Rewrite prescriptions
• Attend to minor medical ailments in the dialysis units
• Liaising with other healthcare professionals and/or hospitals
• Recognise symptoms of serious conditions and refer patients to specialists for further testing and treatment, if needed.

Requirements:

• MBChB is essential
• Registered as a Medical Practitioner with the HPCSA
• Experience within a trauma unit, medical casualties and/or internal medicine would be advantageous
• Experience as a General Practitioner within a private practice would be advantageous
• Reliable
• Patient and willing to learn
• Own reliable transport as you will be required to travel between 2 locations
• Experience with medical software (VeriClaim) would be advantageous

Hours

• Monday to Friday, 08h00 16h00 (and telephonically until 21h00)
• Saturday telephonically available from 08h00 16h00

Start Date:

07 July for 2 weeks (locum position)
