Locum Aftercare Teacher (Pre-Preparatory)

Uplands is a forward-thinking, innovative co-educational independent school, located on a 110-hectare estate in White River, Mpumalanga, and committed to providing quality education to day- and boarding scholars from Grade 0000 to 12.

Uplands School is a member of the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) and the Anglican Board of Education of South Africa (ABESA) and offers examinations set by the Independent Examinations Board (IEB).

Uplands Pre-Preparatory seeks to appoint a Locum Aftercare Teacher, who is energetic, enthusiastic, innovative and enjoys working with young children.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have an Early Childhood Development qualification in Education or currently be studying towards and Early Childhood Development qualification.
  • Have previous experience of working with young children.
  • Be responsible for planning and implementing activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the programme.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures and be First Aid certified.
  • Be required to provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable in.
  • Be able to work as a team member.
  • Be responsible for the children in the Aftercare programme from 11:00 to 17:30 daily.
  • Be able to submit a valid Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Be a South African Citizen.

Duration of Contract: 21 July 2025 to 28 November 2025
