A leading retail company in Cape Town is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain employee costs and ensure compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of retail experience, a Matric/Grade 12 qualification, and a driver's license. You will assist in scheduling staff, maintaining optimal stock levels, and driving on-the-job training to enhance service quality.

Job description

Introduction

Manages resources to ensure compliance with standards and regulations, and sets plans to achieve targets and deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assist Store Manager in maintaining the local employee cost line of 5.5% of turnover.
  2. Ensure staff work schedules are prepared three weeks in advance.
  3. Assist in completing daily Kronos edits.
  4. Maintain a food safety score above 86%.
  5. Ensure staff are scheduled as needed to maintain the employee cost target.
  6. Maintain daily Kronos edits and schedule staff three weeks ahead.
  7. Keep stock levels optimal and minimize out-of-stocks within specified limits.
  8. Implement and uphold display and merchandise standards according to the local planograms, ensuring products are correctly ticketed and priced.
  9. Ensure compliance with hygiene, housekeeping, food safety, employee health and safety, labor relations, and internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  10. Drive on-the-job training to ensure staff are skilled and aligned with delivery standards for quality products and service.

Desired Experience & Qualifications
