Location: Cape Town (Hybrid)
We are looking for a Living Annuity Claims Specialist to join our D2C Operations team.
This role is suited to someone with hands-on experience in Living Annuity claims within the investment industry. No formal degree is required—practical experience, accuracy, initiative, and a strong work ethic matter most.
You will play a critical role in supporting Living Annuity members by managing complex instructions, payments, and claims with care, precision, and professionalism
Core Responsibilities:
- Process and manage Living Annuity claims and ongoing servicing, including:
- Preparing and managing outgoing annexures to external providers
- Ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance throughout the transfer process
- Income Reviews
- Updating client income drawdowns (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual payments)
- Preparing switch instructions manually and via the portal for fund accounting to action
- Living Annuity Maintenance
- Updating client records including banking details, beneficiaries, and personal information
- Living Annuity Member Payment Reconciliation
- Preparing Excel-based schedules for income payments
- Manage and respond to incoming emails via HubSpot, including (but not limited to):
- New instructions
- Beneficiary updates
- Income reviews
- Death claims
- Divorce and maintenance claims
- Process Death Claims with a clear understanding of requirements and workflows.
- Process Divorce and Maintenance Claims, ensuring legal and regulatory accuracy.
- Process Living Annuity Commutation Claims (withdrawals under R125,000).
- Ensure all actions are completed in line with internal controls, compliance requirements, and service standards.
- Work collaboratively with the broader D2C Operations team to improve turnaround times and client outcomes.
Key Requirements:
- Experience working in claims departments within the investment industry, specifically with Living Annuity products.
- Section 50 transfers
- Income reviews and drawdowns
- Living annuity maintenance
- Death, divorce, and maintenance claims
- Living annuity commutation claims
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident working with Excel, digital workflows, and structured reporting.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Comfortable using digital tools and platforms—experience with Slack, HubSpot, or similar systems is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently while remaining a strong collaborator within a team.
