Placements24 in Benoni, Gauteng, seeks an experienced Farm Supervisor to oversee livestock operations on our client's farm. This hands-on role requires strong animal husbandry knowledge, staff supervision, and daily farm routines to maintain welfare, records, and productivity.

You will lead farmhands, monitor health and feed, manage facilities, and support breeding programs while ensuring safety and reliability across all livestock groups in the Gauteng region.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in livestock management or general farm operations.
• Proven experience supervising teams in an agricultural setting.
• Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, common livestock diseases, and basic veterinary care.
• Ability to operate farm machinery and perform minor equipment repairs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage staff effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of farmhands involved in animal care, feeding, and health monitoring.
• Ensure the well-being and optimal health of livestock, including administering medications and treatments as directed.
• Maintain farm facilities, including barns, pens, and fences, ensuring they are clean, safe, and in good repair.
• Monitor feed levels and ensure appropriate feeding schedules are maintained for different animal groups.
• Oversee the implementation of breeding programs and assist with animal health checks and veterinary visits.
• Maintain accurate records related to animal health, feed consumption, and production.
