Job Opportunity: Litigation Secretary - Sandton
Location: Sandton, Gauteng
Salary: R 50,000 - R 55,000 CTC per month (Market related, Negotiable) including benefits such as Medical Aid, Provident Fund, Life Cover, Disability Cover, Funeral Benefit
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric qualification is essential
- A post-matric qualification will be beneficial
- At least 5 years of experience as a legal secretary
- Proficiency in MS Word (preferably MS Word 2010) and Excel
- Knowledge of Aderant Expert (CMS) accounting system
- Familiarity with FileSite
- Experience with Dictaphone and copy-typing of diverse documents
- Ability to type, format, and collate notices and pleadings accurately
- Skill in incorporating amendments and verifying their correctness
- Preparation of resource, counsel, and client files
- Strong organizational skills for managing legal professionals' practices, including diary management and communication handling
- General office administration and personal administrative tasks
- Preparation of pre-bills and billing memos, and liaising with clients regarding billing
- Managing debtors in coordination with the accounts department
- FICA compliance administration, including follow-up
- Liaising with clients, counsel, presiding officers, experts, and service providers as instructed
- Assisting with tender submissions and presentations
- Arranging flights and accommodations
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively, reporting to multiple lawyers
- Well-organized, conscientious, and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidentiality awareness
- Reliable, punctual, honest, and diligent
- Ability to work under pressure and take initiative
