Job summary

Placements24 invites a highly organized Paralegal (Litigation) to join a reputable Stellenbosch firm. You will support litigation attorneys from client intake through trial preparation and post-trial proceedings.

Your responsibilities include legal research, drafting pleadings and discovery requests, managing discovery, and maintaining accurate case files, while communicating effectively with clients, witnesses, court personnel and opposing counsel.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or diploma or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of litigation-focused paralegal work.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Experience with e-discovery platforms and litigation software.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in document prep.
• Effective communication with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
• Familiarity with relevant court rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with trials, hearings, and depositions.
• Conduct legal research using databases and resources to support case strategy.
• Draft pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Manage discovery: review, organize, and production.
• Maintain and organize all case files for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
• Assist with trial prep, including exhibits and witness coordination.
• Track deadlines and manage the attorney's caseload.
