Litigation Manager (Jg8)

Legal Claims Solutions (LCS) has a position available for a Litigation Manager who will be based in Alice Lane, Sandton.

Job Description

This position requires an individual to investigate the merits of a matter, determine policy response, and instruct and manage external attorneys.

Responsibilities include:

1. Monitoring and managing legal costs and ensuring external attorneys adhere to the prescribed Santam Memorandum of Understanding.
2. Determining if the policy needs to respond to lodged claims by applying policy wording to the facts.
3. Appointing and managing resources.
4. Ensuring correct payment of costs.
5. Effective diary management.
6. Liaising with all relevant stakeholders, including brokers, administrators, and underwriters.
7. Providing excellent professional service to all relevant parties, both internal and external.
8. Authorising claims payments in accordance with mandates.
9. Managing the relationship and performance of attorneys.

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric / Grade 12
• BCom, LLB, or LLB degree
• Thorough knowledge and practical experience in Civil Litigation
• Admitted attorney status is advantageous

Product Knowledge

Short Term Insurance; Expert knowledge of process flow systems.
