Legal Claims Solutions (LCS) has a position available for a Litigation Manager who will be based in Alice Lane, Sandton.
Job Description
This position requires an individual to investigate the merits of a matter, determine policy response, and instruct and manage external attorneys.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and managing legal costs and ensuring external attorneys adhere to the prescribed Santam Memorandum of Understanding.
- Determining if the policy needs to respond to lodged claims by applying policy wording to the facts.
- Appointing and managing resources.
- Ensuring correct payment of costs.
- Effective diary management.
- Liaising with all relevant stakeholders, including brokers, administrators, and underwriters.
- Providing excellent professional service to all relevant parties, both internal and external.
- Authorising claims payments in accordance with mandates.
- Managing the relationship and performance of attorneys.
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric / Grade 12
- BCom, LLB, or LLB degree
- Thorough knowledge and practical experience in Civil Litigation
- Admitted attorney status is advantageous
Product Knowledge
Short Term Insurance; Expert knowledge of process flow systems.
