About the Unit Bas ed in the Western Cape area, Yara Africa Fertilizer (Pty) Ltd, has an opportunity for a Liquids Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible to deliver services to our customers by servicing existing equipment as per customers need. The successful candidate will also support the marketing team with technical advice regarding conversion of equipment plus application methods.

Responsibilities

• Technical
• Deliver services liquid fertilizer conversions as per agreed quotes to Yara’s customers.
• Calibrate equipment on farms in line with fertilizer recommendation done by Sales Representatives or Agronomist
• Keep abreast of new developments for application methods for liquid fertilizer in all sectors of the business.
• Service customer conversion / fertigation equipment before season.
• Supply maintenance services to Yara’s liquid depots normal / preventative throughout the year.
• Identify, assess and prioritize work list in workshop.
• Investigation and solving of Customer complaints regarding equipment malfunction.
• Implementation and upkeep of 5S and Waste management.
• Builds and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best service delivery and brand image.

Administration

• Purchase of technical equipment according to Yara’s procedure
• Documentation and PR orders completion and executing on excel spreadsheet for payments approval by head of department.
• Supply customer VAT inv/job card to admin center within 20 working days
• Physical stock count of workshop stock as per Yara’s procedures.
• Expense claim / cost within agreed budget to be submit to head office by 25th of each month.
• Inventory control.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 plus Artisan qualification. (Diesel Mechanic, Millwright)
• 5 years’ experience in Fertilizer application and environment with proven technical skills.

Language skills

• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing fluently in both Afrikaans and English
