Job Summary

The Department of History, Philosophy, Politics, and Economics is seeking applications for Limited Term Lecturers (LTLs) in Economics.

LTL positions are temporary, non-benefits eligible, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Teach on campus and/or online courses in introductory Economics, following the syllabus and curricula provided.
  • Maintain office hours and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Maintain FERPA certification.
  • Assist with program-related duties and administrative tasks, including orientation, proctoring, student evaluations, curriculum and program review.
  • Understand and adhere to University policies and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate competency in effective online (synchronous and asynchronous) and in-person instruction.
Education, Experience, Training, and/or Certifications
  • Master's degree in Economics or a related field (minimum 18 hours of graduate work in Economics).
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching at the college level or relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

The College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences serves over 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students across various programs.

The college houses the Community Counseling Center, providing affordable mental health services, and the Institute for Social and Policy Research, which uses social science and policy analysis to address educational, social, and health challenges in Northwest Indiana and the Chicago region.

The college also supports the Willie T. Donald Exoneration Advisory Coalition, aiding those wrongfully convicted in Indiana.
