Library Assistant (Maternity Cover – Fixed term contract)

Start Date: 1 August – 18 November 2025

Hilton College invites applications for the fixed-term position of Librarian Assistant to provide maternity cover within our dynamic academic support environment.

The ideal candidate will support the daily operations of our library, contribute to the learning culture at Hilton College, and play a critical role in maintaining a well-organised, engaging, and learner-centred space. An excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a collaborative, high-expectation environment and has strong administrative, ICT, and interpersonal skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A Postgraduate Diploma or Degree in Library and Information Science (or equivalent)
  • Registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
  • Police Clearance, Sexual Offenders Register, and Child Protection clearance
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a school or academic library environment

  • Passionate advocate for reading and learning.
