Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Leverage an existing client database and industry network to generate leads, secure business and drive revenue.
  • Develop and implement a proactive leisure sales strategy aligned with the group’s commercial objectives.
  • Identify, prospect and secure new business opportunities across leisure, group, corporate and other identified market segments.
  • Grow and develop existing accounts while identifying opportunities for additional revenue.
  • Build and maintain relationships with travel agents, tour operators, DMCs, group organisers and other key travel trade partners.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers within target accounts.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets through proactive sales activity and pipeline management.
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate terms and close sales.

Job description

Position: Leisure Sales Manager Locations: Hospitality Hire is recruiting an experienced and results-driven Leisure Sales Manager for an established hospitality group with properties in Cape Town and Sandton. Reporting directly to the Group Commercial Director; this is a commercially focused sales role for an experienced hospitality sales professional who already has a strong network and established client database within the leisure travel market and, importantly, a proven ability to convert relationships and leads into measurable revenue. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with leisure travel agents, tour operators, destination management companies (DMCs), corporate leisure partners, group organisers and other key travel trade accounts. This role requires someone who is proactive in the market, comfortable opening doors, confident negotiating and closing business, and motivated by achieving and exceeding revenue targets.

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ hospitality sales experience
  • Proven sales experience within the hotel or hospitality sector
  • Strong existing client database and established industry relationships essential
  • Proven track record of converting leads and opportunities into confirmed business and revenue
  • Established relationships within the leisure travel, tour operator, travel agency and/or DMC market highly advantageous
  • Strong understanding of hospitality sales, account management and marketing techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively source and secure new business
  • Strong negotiation, networking and relationship‑building skills
  • Commercially minded with a clear understanding of revenue targets and sales performance
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, target‑driven and results‑orientated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional, confident and well‑groomed presentation
  • Excellent command of the English language essential; additional languages advantageous
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a commercial team
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced and highly pressurised environment
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time‑management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage an existing client database and industry network to generate leads, secure business and drive revenue

  • Grow and develop existing accounts while continuously identifying opportunities for additional revenue
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with travel agents, tour operators, DMCs, group organisers and other key travel trade partners
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers within target accounts
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales and revenue targets through consistent, proactive sales activity
  • Manage incoming sales enquiries and convert qualified opportunities into confirmed business
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate commercial terms and close sales
  • Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, sales calls and property site inspections
  • Represent the properties professionally within the hospitality and travel trade market
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and follow up consistently on prospective business
  • Monitor market activity, competitor movements and emerging business opportunities
  • Work closely with the Revenue and Marketing teams to align sales activity with pricing, positioning, campaigns and overall commercial objectives
  • Provide accurate monthly sales reports, pipeline updates and relevant market insights to management
  • Maintain accurate account, sales activity and client information
  • Perform additional responsibilities that reasonably fall within the scope of the position or operational requirements

You already understand the leisure travel landscape and have a network you can confidently engage. You know how to turn conversations into opportunities, opportunities into confirmed business, and confirmed business into long‑term commercial relationships. You are comfortable being measured against targets, can demonstrate previous sales success and have the drive to continuously identify and secure new revenue opportunities.
