Job description

An Agricultural enterprise located in the Western Cape, is currently offering an opportunity to join its dynamic team. The company specializes in fruit tree cultivation, the development of new fruit cultivars, and the marketing of fruit. They are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Legal Support Officer to assist with administrative and paralegal functions within their in-house legal department. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Legal Advisor with document management, contract follow -ups, and drafting of legal agreements.This position is ideal for a recent LLB graduate seeking practical experience, or for someone with prior legal or paralegal experience.

Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Provide administrative support to the Legal Advisor, including document filing, tracking deadlines, and maintaining internal records.

• Monitor and follow up on the status of agreements and legal documentation.

• Review and summarise legal documents and contracts.

• Draft of agreements, letters, and legal correspondence under guidance.

• Assist with the coordination of contract execution and compliance -related tasks.

• Liaise with internal departments and external parties on basic legal matters.

• Ensure all legal documentation is accurate, up to date, and appropriately stored.

Qualifications and Requirements

• LLB degree (completed-or contract law courses (E.g. Bcom(law), BA(law)).

• Prior experience in a legal, paralegal, or administrative role is advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of basic contract law principles.

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Good time management and ability to handle follow-up tasks independently.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Outlook).

• Discreet, dependable, and able to work with sensitive information.
