We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary / Executive Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to our executive and legal teams. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional knowledge of legal procedures and terminology, with a strong ability to interpret, draft, and manage legal documents—particularly contracts and lease agreements.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Job Title : Legal Secretary / Executive Assistant

Employment Type : Permanent

Work Location : Johannesburg / Capetown

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Draft, format, and review legal documents including contracts, lease agreements, NDAs, service level agreements, and correspondence.
  • Interpret and summarize legal documentation and provide clear, concise support to management.
  • Manage executive schedules, coordinate meetings, and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations as required by senior management.
  • Liaise with internal departments, clients, attorneys, and external stakeholders to facilitate the flow of legal documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain a well-organized filing system for legal and corporate documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Track deadlines and renewal dates for leases, contracts, and legal obligations.
  • Provide administrative support such as travel arrangements, expense reporting, and document management for senior executives.
  • Assist with compliance and regulatory filings when necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, Executive Assistant, or similar role within a legal or corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents, and legal procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and draft legal agreements, especially commercial contracts and lease agreements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with legal management software is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :

  • LLB Preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a legal secretarial or executive assistant role.
  • Experience in corporate law, real estate law, or contract law is highly desirable.

PACKAGE & REMUNERATION :

  • Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, applicable experience, and previous earnings.
