Are you a seasoned legal professional ready to take the lead in high-impact infrastructure and energy projects?A highly respected client is on the lookout for a dynamic Legal & Compliance Manager to join their team.

This is a rare opportunity for an individual with deep expertise in project finance and regulatory compliance to play a pivotal role in driving strategic investment initiatives across complex infrastructure and energy portfolios.The Role : Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Internal Legal & Compliance Manager will provide strategic legal oversight across all phases of project finance transactions.

From contract negotiation to regulatory alignment, this role will be key in safeguarding commercial interests while ensuring best-in-class governance practices.Key Responsibilities : Deliver expert legal advisory on complex project finance and investment structuresDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including shareholder, EPC, and O&M contractsEnsure compliance with regulatory frameworks in the energy and infrastructure sectorsProactively identify legal and commercial risks, and lead on mitigation strategiesManage stakeholder engagement, including legal counsel, financiers, and government bodiesOversee due diligence processes and advise on potential investmentsSupport resolution of disputes and ensure alignment with internal corporate governance policiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align legal input with commercial strategiesLead internal training on legal and contractual best practicesRequirements : LLB and admission to a recognised legal body (a Masters in Business, Finance or Commercial Law is advantageous)Minimum of 7 years experience in legal and commercial roles within project finance, infrastructure, or energyProven track record in contract negotiation and legal advisory for complex investment transactionsStrong understanding of PPPs, project finance structures, and regulatory frameworksExcellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate effectively in high-pressure environments with multiple stakeholdersEE Disclaimer : All positions will be filled in accordance with the company's Employment Equity plan.
