Legal Commercial and Contracts Advisor – Paralegal

Location: Head Office, Westville

Division: Commercial

Are you a legally qualified professional with a strong grasp of commercial contracts and an eye for compliance? Boxer Superstores is looking for a Senior Legal and Contracts Coordinator to support our Commercial Division with contract management and advisory support in a high-volume, fast-paced FMCG environment.

This role is ideal for someone with a legal qualification (LLB, BProc, BCom Law or equivalent) who enjoys a balance of hands-on administrative responsibility and providing commercial legal insight — without the need to be an admitted attorney.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and manage a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, service level agreements, and trading terms.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across all contracts and assist with the resolution of contractual disputes.
• Collaborate closely with buyers, the Commercial Executive, and other internal stakeholders to align contract terms with business objectives.
• Maintain the centralised contracts database, manage renewal alerts, and ensure document accuracy and integrity.
• Support regulatory compliance including POPIA, CPA, and other applicable legislation affecting FMCG operations.
• Assist in interpreting legal risks, preparing contract summaries, and ensuring adherence to internal governance frameworks.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Legal qualification: LLB, BProc, BCom Law or similar (admission as an attorney not required).
• 3–5+ years’ experience in a contracts, paralegal or legal support role in a commercial, FMCG or retail environment.
• Proven experience handling contract lifecycles, regulatory compliance, and legal documentation.
• Solid understanding of commercial law and procurement processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, document control, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a deadline-driven environment.
