Placements24 is seeking a Legal Associate for its financial services client in Midrand, Gauteng. The role supports the legal team with research, drafting, and compliance tasks in a collaborative corporate environment.

The ideal candidate holds an LLB, is admitted to practice (desirable), and has 1–3 years of post-qualification experience, with strong written and verbal communication and excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of post-qualification experience in a legal environment.
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent qualification.
• Admission as an Attorney or Advocate is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on various matters as directed by senior legal counsel.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
• Support the compliance team in monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring adherence.
• Help manage legal records and maintain a systematic filing system.
• Assist in preparing for meetings, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Provide administrative support to the legal department.
• Liaise with internal departments and external parties as needed.
• Contribute to the development and updating of legal policies and procedures.
• Assist with dispute resolution processes under supervision.
