Legal advisor required for the Logistics industry

Position Info: Responsibilities :

  1. Provide labour advice, including telephonic support.
  2. Assist in developing employee talent management, career development policies, and aligning them with industry best practices.
  3. Help improve employee position systems, job grading, and ensure alignment with industry standards.
  4. Support the development of succession planning policies and procedures.
  5. Assist with employee performance, remuneration, and benefits policies, ensuring best practices.
  6. Contribute to other HR management projects as needed.
  7. Employee Relations: Offer HR advice and support to employees and management, aligning with HR practices and culture.
  8. Industrial Relations: Ensure compliance of disciplinary codes and policies with statutory Acts; advise management on disciplinary procedures; handle Bargaining Council and union interactions.
  9. Recruitment and Retention: Oversee recruitment activities.
  10. Maintain HR administrative systems, including employment contracts and reporting.
  11. Training and Development: Identify training needs, implement programs, evaluate outcomes, develop ATR and WSP, liaise with FP&M Seta, and coordinate induction and skills programs, including managing Seta funding and documentation.
  12. Ensure company policies and procedures are current and compliant with legislation.
  13. Update Employment Equity (EE) plans and reports, facilitate EE committee meetings, and handle submissions to the Department of Labour.
  14. Provide legal advice and support for all group companies, with travel as required.

Requirements :

  • LLB / B Proc / Admitted Attorney qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ Bargaining Council / CCMA experience.
  • At least 5 years’ HR Manager experience in the industry.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Own vehicle.
  • South African citizenship.
  • Strong policy and procedure drafting skills, proficiency in English.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and people skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability to change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
