Job description

Introduction

The above vacancy exists within the Legal Services department and reports to the Senior Legal Advisor.

The purpose of this role is to provide legal services and support to the company, as well as play a support role to the Legal Services General Manager.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have successfully completed an LLB degree, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of post-articles experience.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Supervise copyright infringement, dispute resolution, and general litigation.
  2. Contract negotiation, drafting, vetting, and management.
  3. Collections (Debtors Book and Tenants).

Additional requirements include:

  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • 2 years of post-articles litigation and commercial experience in a law firm, along with general contract work.
  • 1 year of compliance/risk management experience (advantageous).
  • Ability to manage stakeholders (attorneys, legal consultants, service providers, etc.).
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to oversee and manage legal projects.
  • Excellent computer skills (including word processing and spreadsheets).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of copyright law (preferable).
  • Experience with employment law matters (preferable).
