Please Note : Preference will be given to applicants from Underrepresented Groups Job Family Risk Audit and Compliance Legal Manage Self : Professional FAIS Affected Job Purpose To provide proactive professional legal advice and legal risk management services to internal clients to mitigate the insurer's legal risk.

Assist Legal Head : Nedbank Insurance in the development and implementation of structures and processes for effective and efficient delivery of insurance-wide legal services, risk management, and compliance.

Job Responsibilities Build and sustain business relations to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.

Manage and develop partnerships with external counsel / law firms to ensure high-quality legal services at reasonable costs.

Support legal cost management within allocated budgets.

Ensure stakeholder satisfaction by meeting turnaround times and addressing issues through legal risk advice.

Align new product development policies with stakeholders and business processes.

Manage stakeholder expectations by providing management information, risk analytics, and strategic insights.

Advise governance, regulatory, procedural, and legal matters to boards and committees.

Contribute to a positive corporate culture through participation in Nedbank initiatives.

Research and train staff on legal risk management.

Support corporate responsibility initiatives.

Identify and recommend process improvements to add value.

Assist in managing legal risk strategies within the group's risk appetite.

Provide legal risk advice to support business objectives.

Develop and implement policies and practices for legal risk management.

Provide strategic insights to decision-making bodies to improve legal risk processes.

Develop mandates for legal risk management structures.

Meet internal stakeholder requirements with governance and advisory services.

Report on legal risk management processes.

Embed legal risk culture within Nedbank Insurance.

Support business transactions and projects as a trusted legal advisor.

Respond to ad hoc legal risk queries.

Manage litigation matters effectively, including communication with stakeholders and panel attorneys.

Review and manage the attorneys' panel for diversity and transformation.

Monitor legal and regulatory changes, assess impacts, and coordinate responses.

Educate management and staff on relevant legal issues.

People Specification Essential Qualifications NQF Level Advanced Diplomas / National 1st Degrees Preferred Qualification Bachelor of Arts : Law or equivalent Advanced Diplomas / National 1st Degrees Essential Certifications Admitted Attorney Minimum Experience Level 6-10 years post-articles experience within the Financial Services Industry, preferably Insurance.
