Responsibilities
An experienced Lead Legal Counsel with proficiency in NEC, FIDIC, and JBCC contracts, specialising in the Security and/or Construction industries, and with a strong background in commercial litigation, is sought for the following responsibilities:
Legal Advice And Interpretation
- Provide legal support in commercial law, particularly in the construction industry, including engineering and construction contracts such as FIDIC and JBCC contracts.
- Handle commercial litigation matters.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements across the group of companies.
- Review and provide legal advice on various documents, including contracts and tender documents.
- Advise on Health and Safety regulations and the legal implications of internal policies.
- Oversee client and vendor contracts, assessing legal implications.
- Report on legal matters to executive management.
- Draft and modify contractual instruments and legal documentation.
- Facilitate company registration and dissolution as per the Companies Act.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes affecting the business.
- Serve as a liaison between the company and external attorneys.
- Assist in arbitration, litigation, and mediation support.
- Advise on disciplinary hearings procedures.
- Conduct legal research on various issues.
- Manage and maintain the company's legal library.
- Ensure proper document control in the company's cloud-based system.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Manage external lawyers and liaise with them as necessary.
- Provide legal assistance when dealing with media and public relations release statements.
- Review the progress of outstanding litigation and oversee external lawyers' work.
