Key Purpose

To provide robust administrative and legal support to the Recoveries and Liabilities team, ensuring maximum litigation efficiency.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Achieving monthly business targets.
• Identifying viable matters for litigation.
• Accurately and promptly administering:

o Arbitration processes

o Litigation processes

o Litigated invoice payments

• Preparing and submitting litigation referral documentation.
• Managing and following up on outstanding litigation payments.
• Handling litigation settlements and banking processes.
• Preparing litigation meeting packs and managing outcomes.
• Weekly analysis of litigation data.
• Assisting with collection of outstanding monies.
• Supporting other administrative functions within the legal department.
• Engaging with clients and brokers.
• Adhering to risk and compliance standards.
• Exhibiting teamwork, self-management, and alignment with Discovery values.

Education and Experience

• Matric certificate (Essential)
• Paralegal Certificate or LL.B qualification (Essential)
• At least 3 years’ experience in short-term insurance recovery/liability departments or managing legal panels in a corporate environment (Essential)
• Deep knowledge of Civil Procedure and Law of Delict (Essential)
