Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to enhance the legal capabilities across Momentum Insure; implement an end-to-end corporate legal function; enhance stakeholder interactions; ensure the effective management of legal risk while supporting strategic growth initiatives; and support the legal function.

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify, assess, manage, monitor and report on current and potential legal risks within Momentum Insure.
  • Stay abreast with changes in legislation, regulations, proposals from regulators and provide research on legal related topics and legal opinions within the financial services sector.
  • Assess business needs and provide corporate legal advice regarding contracting and project implementation.
  • Draft, negotiate, review, and advise on contracts including Service Level Agreements, MOUs, NDAs, Outsourcing agreements, and binders.
  • Manage the contract management process.
  • Provide strategic legal support, advice, and guidance to Momentum Insure, including its committees, forums, and departments requiring legal support.
  • Build strong relationships by providing specialist legal opinions.
  • Support and contribute to Risk Management and Legal Management within Momentum Insure.
  • Implement policies and guidelines effectively.
  • Assist in executing the Legal Risk Management Framework and its implementation throughout the organization.
  • Track and monitor key legal risk indicators, controls, and action plans.
  • Assist in compiling legal reports.
  • Address general legal queries as requested.
  • Continuously develop industry and subject matter expertise.
  • Project manage legal deliverables in conjunction with stakeholders.
  • Provide legal training or insights to different business units on relevant legal issues, processes, and policies.
