Job description

SEIDOR Africa is currently looking for a Legal Administrator to provide administrative and clerical support to the SEIDOR Group, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining accurate records. The responsibilities include managing legal documents, scheduling, coordinating communications, and assisting with case preparation. The goal is to ensure the team's overall success by meeting deadlines and following procedures.

Our ideal candidate must have proven experience as a Legal Administrator, Legal Secretary, or a similar role.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate's degree or higher in legal studies, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Legal Administrator, Legal Secretary, or similar role is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.
  • A basic understanding of legal terminology, regulations, and the court system is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in relevant software; ability to learn new software and systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and legal staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure; capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion and confidentiality; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Document Management: Prepare and maintain legal documents, including contracts, briefs, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and completeness (South Africa, East Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Mauritius, Zambia; North Africa: Morocco, Ethiopia, Tunisia).
  • Communication & Scheduling: Coordinate legal communications, including taking calls, responding to emails, and interfacing with clients, as well as scheduling appointments and meetings.
  • Case Preparation: Assist with case preparation, including opening and closing files, organizing documents, and preparing for court appearances.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and update databases and tracking systems for legal matters, ensuring information is readily accessible and accurate.
  • Legal Support: Assist with various legal tasks, such as preparing legal documents, conducting research, and managing case files, while providing administrative support to legal professionals.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards in all aspects of the role.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication.

Additional qualifications include experience as a HR Administrator, excellent problem-solving skills, knowledge of HR processes and labor laws, proficiency with MS Office, and strong organizational skills.
