Job summary

Unitalentza is seeking an academic at Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level to develop and teach content in biochemistry and genetics majors and the Honours course. You will contribute to curriculum design and student mentorship.

You will supervise Honours, Master’s and Doctoral students, build a productive research group, attract independent funding, and collaborate with departmental colleagues while contributing to administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology or related field (including bioinformatics) is required.
• Proven lab bench expertise in molecular biology.
• Post-PhD experience: 2+ years at Lecturer level; 4+ years at Senior Lecturer level.
• Record of publications in high-quality international journals, first author (Lecturer) or senior author (Senior Lecturer).
• Ability to teach molecular biology at undergraduate level.
• Under Senior Lecturer: significant undergrad teaching, funding attraction, supervision leading to graduation, and admin involvement.

• Track record of published research outputs in molecular biology in high-quality international journals, including as first author (Lecturer) or senior author (Senior Lecturer)
• Ability to teach molecular biology at undergraduate level
• Senior Lecturer level: Significant undergraduate teaching experience with evidence of content development; demonstrated ability to attract external research funding; lead supervision of MSc and/or PhD students to graduation; evidence of contributions to administration
