The IIE Varsity College, Westville has a vacancy for a Lecturer: Humanities and Social Sciences.

Duties And Responsibilities

Lecturing

• Lecture on programmes (must lecture on an IIE qualification) across various modes of delivery where relevant.
• Mark assessments and provide feedback to students in subjects lectured. May be required to internally moderate assessment scripts within their subject fields across IIE sites.

Lecturer Development and Support

• Assist in lecturer development and support processes, including peer reviews, workshops, and consultations.

Lecturer and Material Development and Support

• Assist with developing assessments and learning materials as required.

Student Development & Support

• Lead and manage academic development and support for a specific programme and its students.
• Monitor student success and implement support interventions as needed.

Research & Scholarship

• Promote a culture of scholarship and contribute to the college's research output targets.

Competencies / Skills required:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proactive work management.
• Effective teaching experience in the subject area with reflective practice.
• Ability to manage relationships with staff and management effectively.
• Passion for Customer Service.
• Experience with technology-enhanced learning is advantageous.

Minimum Qualification Requirement:

• Relevant Master’s qualification in Psychology.
• HPCSA Registration.

Minimum Work Experience Requirement:

• 3-5 years teaching experience in Higher Education.
• Postgraduate supervision (advantageous).
• Research output (advantageous).
