Job summary

Job description

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To facilitate the learning process for undergraduate and postgraduate students intending to become radiographers.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Facilitate the teaching and learning of undergraduate and postgraduate radiography students.
  • Conduct clinical teaching and assessment at accredited training facilities.
  • Perform academic administrative duties.
  • Facilitate academic engagement.
  • Participate in research activities in the department.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • In-depth knowledge of the theory and practice of Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Experience of clinical radiographic teaching and assessment.
  • Experience in teaching academic radiographic modules.
  • Strong skills in dealing with people at all levels.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.

Requirements

To be considered for the appointment to this post, candidates must have:

  • A Master’s degree in Radiography or equivalent
  • Two years clinical experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and lecturing experience will be a strong advantage.
  • Current registration as a Radiographer with the HPCSA.
  • Proven record of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • PhD registration an advantage.
