Job Summary:

This PART TIME Lecturer role will provide you an excellent opportunity to support and enhance the learning journeys of talented Red & Yellow students with modules in PROFFESSIONAL PRACTICE & WORK PLACE LEARNING. As a lecturer in your field of expertise, you will take full responsibility for the academic performance and functioning of your programme. You will be required to work closely with the Heads of the Department and the lecturing team to maintain, develop and grow Red & Yellow’s respected programme offering. The ideal candidate would have background in both Academia and Industry. This position will require your physical presence on campus.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • The convenorship and lecturing of modules for Professional Practice and the Workplace Learning Component of this module
  • Proven experience within the entrepreneurial space
  • A network of industry or academic professionals to offer students practical and real-world exposure
  • Demonstrated experience in employability or student placement for internship purposes
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop and deliver an engaging high quality lecturing and supporting learning activities.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in own subject area
  • History of publications (not limited to academic publications)
  • Develop the curriculum for your modules aligned to Red & Yellow’s teaching style, including, but not limited to, lesson planning, tutorial content and planning, tests, assessments and exams
  • Assessment of new student applications
  • Lecture and conduct tutorials as part of the full-time programme offering
  • Participate in the monitoring & evaluation of the academic programme, including attendance and maintenance of student records
  • Liaise with academic colleagues/relevant industry contacts to ensure ongoing development and relevance
  • Participate in the annual upgrade of programme content, where relevant
  • Conduct, marking and moderation processes, participating in internal and external moderation processes
  • Participate in examination and certification processes and promotion of students
  • Attend regular staff meetings and relevant faculty events
  • Ensure both hard and electronic filing of all required documentation, including tracking and reporting on at-risk students
  • Ensure all lecturer administration is up to date and relevant deadlines are met
  • Participate in student grievance & disciplinary sessions, where relevant
  • Lecture in accordance with the requirements of the programme outcomes and in accordance with the accredited programme outlines
  • Benchmarking of programme offerings against other relevant higher education institutions
  • Adhere to centralised policies and procedures that ensure outstanding quality and unquestionable integrity of all academic programmes that are offered
  • Attend relevant marketing activities for the school (i.e. Open days etc.)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of Honours Degree in Marketing or Entrepreneurship
  • A MBA, Master’s degree in the Management or Entrepreneurship field is advantageous
  • Minimum 3-5 years teaching experience in a tertiary environment
  • Minimum 5-7 years industry experience in the subject area
  • Evidence of continuous professional development is required
  • History of publications (not limited to academic publications)
  • A network of industry or academic professionals to offer students practical and real-world exposure for work place learning
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop and deliver an engaging high quality lecturing and supporting learning activities.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and to providing the highest quality experience for students
  • Technology savvy
  • Ability to achieve deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication style and team working skills
  • A passion to provide an engaging student experience
  • Extremely computer literate: Google Workspace (Gmail, GDrive, GSheets, etc.), Zoom and/or Microsoft 360 package, Moodle (LMS) and SIS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
